Tanaka Group to host 14 undergraduate / graduate students for the MACS (MAthematics-based Creation of Science) program of Faculty of Science, Kyoto Unversity.
The theme of our study group is “Developing mathematical models to understand collective cellular behaviors in dieseases”（「疾患における集団的細胞挙動の数理モデルの開拓」）and will bring together students from various disciplines to tackle a new, interdisciplinary field.

Prof. Tanaka and Dr. Yamamoto joined the 4th Network Conference Reseach Alumni which was held at Kyoto University by the Heidelberg Alumni International and Heidelberg Alumni Japan.
Prof. Tanaka gave a talk “My Experience as a HeKKSaGOn Professor”, while Dr. Yamamoto introduced his scientific activities as a Heidelberg Alumni and HeKKSaGOn Junior Reseacher.

Prof. Tanaka chaired a Working Group (WG) “Life and Natural Science Fusion” at the 6th HeKKSaGOn German-Japanese University Network Presidents’ Conference at Osaka University.
He also presented past achievements and future visions of the WG at the general meeting.

Kick-Off Symposium of the new “Center for Integrative Medicine and Physics” took place at the KUIAS Main Building Lecture Hall.
It was a huge success, bringing together over 100 participants!

Prof. Tanaka was invited by the Kansai Ophthalmopathy Society（関西眼疾患研究会）to give a Special Lecture (also as a graduate school special lecture) at the Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine (Dept. Ophthalmology), where he gave a talk titled “Developing Medicine Physics that leads to Clinical Practice”（「臨床へとつながる医学物理学の開拓」）.

Prof. Tanaka is appointed as professor for the new endowed research section “Center for Integrative Medicine and Physics” (Nakatani Foundation) of Kyoto University Institute for Advanced Study.
